Thursday: Coronado, where I bought (another) cowboyhat... went to the beach
Dinner in Little Italy @ Mimmo's. forgettable pasta, but shula's portabello ravioli was the bomb.
Then we hit the Casbah where we saw a very good local band(?), then Kool Keith the Ultramagnetic MC did his thang...
Friday: Ocean Beach :::YESH... chilled on the windyass beach for a bit, then went and ate some Greek food in the sun, where I met my friend Firewalker, who helped me access essential recreational resources.-.-.-. La Jolla, The Filling Station, and then some good dancing at the Bluefoot Lounge on 30th st in North Park....
Saturday:::>> Waffle breakfast with Pat and Geer./././ kayaking and (sort of) snorkeling in La Jolla. Dinner: in Old Town at the Old Town Mexican Cafe.. THAT was some really good food. When we came in the tortilla chips were already there on the table, HOT!, with FRESH salsa. We got a nice big order of guacamole which was devoured, as well as my quarter chicken, fish tacos, and some adovada (delicious, marinated pork) . for dessert: fried ice cream! YYYYYUUUUMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!
Sunday:/:/:/:/> walked (literally) over to Mexico. Tijuana piece of me??
Lunch :Caldo de pollo muyfamiliar. Dinner :CHURROS!!!! Late nite snack: elotes!>!>!
Monday: Las playas de Tijuana. Mexican pastries and Tea for breakfast (on the run). Chilled in las playas. Got baked by the sun. Licuados de platano, mango, papaya.... more adovada tacos en la calle.
::Walked back to SD, and bought some Jack n the Box. Got caught on the trolley for not paying, but they let us off with a warning.
Finally, had Cheesecake Factory "Tapas" courtesy of Pat.
Then went BACK to the Casbah, where we saw an AMAZING performance:> The Dragons of Zynth opened up, and we caught the second half of their set. Intense Afro punk... Out of Control, followed by SAUL WILLIAMS aka bLACK sTACEY aka Niggy Tardust.0.0..00
Tuesday:-:-:-: we visited the San Diego Museum of Art for the Inside the Waves exhibition. and was also captivated by the very thorough Rhythms of India exhibition.
Then Pat and Geer insisted we go for Mongolian Hot Pot. 2 words: SO GOOOOOD!.!.!
