If you don't know what the fug I'm talkin about - ask somebody - like me!
I even attended the WUD Chicago event - which was a conference (followed w cocktails), where we heard some pretty nifty presentations on the user experience design revolutions going on with transportation:
1)CTA is getting some new bus designs, improving realtime information systems at terminals(including msgs to riders cellphones!) &plus there are people working on creating better access for the buses on the street, perhaps to encourage cardrivers to take the bus instead;
2)I-Go has led the car-sharing industry - we listened to its founder talk about how it all came about and where's it's (we're) going;
3) We heard an entertaining presentation about how airlines, airplanes, and airports are being designed to deal with increased ridership by devising new plane designs (for speed, fuel efficiency, and capacity), improving the use of the airport space, and creating business models which effectively respond to the changing global marketsociety. our shrinking expanding world . . . .
Did i mention the cocktails that followed?
haha
